Guide to Registering Composition Rights (Composition)

Registering Content ID for music composition rights (Composition) is performed directly during the Sound Recording registration process through an optional checkbox in the EMVN CMS system.

Step 1: Access the Sound Recording Registration Interface

Upload your audio recording and complete the required information fields such as:

• Song title
• Performing artist
• ISRC
• Genre
• Other required metadata following the standard Sound Recording registration process

Step 2: Select "Register composition"

Below the ISRC field, you will see a checkbox labeled:

☑ Register composition

Please tick this checkbox if you wish to register the composition rights for the song.

Step 3: Enter composition information and submit registration

After selecting "Register composition", the system will display additional required fields:

Composition Details

Song Title (*)\nThe title of the composition (auto-filled from the recording title, editable if needed)

Writer Information

Writer #1 (*)\nEnter the songwriter's name\n➡ Click the plus (+) icon to add co-writers if applicable

Publisher Information

Publisher #1 (*)

• Enter the publisher's name
• If you do not work with a publisher, enter the label name registered with EMVN
• Click the plus (+) icon to add additional publishers if any

Ownership Shares

• Sync Ownership Share – Synchronization rights percentage
• Mechanical Ownership Share – Mechanical rights percentage
• Performance Ownership Share – Public performance rights percentage

📌 If you own 100% of the composition, enter 100 for all three fields.\n📌 If there are multiple owners, allocate the percentages according to your agreements.

ISWC – International Standard Musical Work Code

⚠ Fields marked with (*) are mandatory.

Save and submit

• Click Save to update the entered information

• Use the Details button to toggle the quick view of song details

• Select the songs you wish to register by ticking the checkbox on the far left

• Click Submit to complete the Content ID registration

Step 4: Review registered compositions

You can review registered songs in the Content Delivery tab.

Helpful tools:

• Search box on the right for quick lookup
• Status filter menu to sort by processing stage
